Wendy Robin

Wendy Robin is a vibrant and electrifying performer. Her career as a singer and entertainer began in her native country of Dominica. She later migrated to Toronto, Canada in 1991, where she joined super group “Steady Vibes”. The young group made two recordings which received significant airplay. They also performed in New York, Montreal, Toronto and the Caribbean.

 

Growing up in Dominica, Wendy Robin was influenced by a mixture of Reggae, other forms of Caribbean style music, R&B, Pop and Jazz. She claims that the singers who influenced her music style the most include Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, Patti La belle and of course Whitney Houston.

 

While Wendy was pursuing a singing career she was also attending Ryerson Polytechnic University studying Biochemistry. She also participated in beauty pageants, and in 1998 won the Miss Dominica Ontario and in 1999 won the Miss Black Ontario .
These pageants along with Wendy Robin’s continued solo performances contributed to her coming of age as a singer/entertainer. Wendy Robin continued to pursue her goals by doing a bit of modeling, but her heart was always in the music industry. Wendy later recorded her first single, a dance track “Ain’t Nobody” on a label (WR Records) she helped to establish. Wendy Robin later performed in South East Asia ( Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Macau) for more than 5 years and brought on some electrifying performances to audiences. She also performed in most of the Canadian provinces as well as New York, Miami,Chicago, New Jersey and Connecticut just to name a few cities in the USA.

 

At the end of 2010, Wendy Robin released her debut album “Colours of the Sea” in Hong Kong to rave reviews. Wendy Robin’s album release event was quite a success with many of her fans, the media and record executives in attendance , and in February, 2012, the album was re-released in Europe and the West. Wendy Robin takes pride in this nine-track album, not only because it is a world class album, but because she now add song writing to her skills.
Wendy Robin is currently working in the studio, and engaged in promoting her album and music (Internationally) all over the world via the Internet, (Web sites, Radios and Social Media),Television and Live shows and events.
